CSEA advocates with state and federal agencies, as well as with the state legislature. Regardless of your professional designation, all tax practitioners benefit from CSEA's advocacy program, which is non-partisan and seeks to promote sound tax policy on behalf of tax practitioners as well as taxpayers.
- We have seats on the advisory boards for Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department, Department of Tax and Fee Administration (formerly BOE), and the Secretary of State. CSEA has formed close relationships with these agencies, allowing us to serve as an early-warning system for them when our members report systemic issues. Likewise, these agencies turn to CSEA for feedback on programs and planned changes.
- We work closely with the IRS Stakeholder Liaison Office, who calls on CSEA to deliver urgent messages to our members regarding system changes and issues, in addition to providing a consistent communications channel.
- We have a robust legislative advocacy program that protects the concerns of Enrolled Agents and ensures that your representatives know that EAs are tax professionals they can call on for policy feedback.
Many of these activities are supported through generous contributions to our
Legislative Advocacy Fund.
